PROJECT BACKGROUND

Chaulanarayan Primary School, Kageshwori Manahara is a Public educational institution, which is located at Thali, Kathmandu, Nepal. The School provides primary level education with minimal fee structures and also provides scholarship schemes for socially backward and meritious students. Access to drinking Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene at schools are the basic determinants of a child’s right to healthy and quality education. The limited WASH facilities, unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and hygiene practices result in irresponsible behaviors that directly impede on students’ health. In the recently constructed new building of this School, there is necessity to improve its Hygiene and Sanitation facilities.

LOCATION OF THE PROJECT

Kageshwori-Manohara is a municipality in Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former Village development committees Aalapot, Bhadrabas, Danchhi, Gagalphedi, Gothatar and Mulpani.Chaulanarayan Primary School is located in Thali at Narayangauni-Thali Road 4 km from Gokarna Resort.
